Video Special: Thinking Acrossed the Home and School Day
By Michelle Garcia Winner
A note from Laurel Hoekman: I was privileged to help produce this video series. It was exciting to hear the practical suggestions and research-based information that Michelle had to offer in her 2-hour workshop (video 1).
It was even more interesting to see that information applied as Michelle worked with individuals and groups of children (both elementary and high-school). She quickly developed a great rapport with them, and demonstrated effective techniques for facilitating social thinking and related skills. This video series takes much of the wonderful content from her two books, Inside Out: What Makes the Person with Social Cognitive Deficits Work? (2000) and
Thinking About You, Thinking About Me (2002), and SHOWS parents and professionals how to apply it in practical, hands-on situations. It's exciting to be able to offer this tremendous resource to all who work with people with ASD.
